The American Bus Association has recognized the annual event as one of the 100 Best Events in North America.

Crownsville also hosts the annual “Haunted Thing” - a 20-minute guided tour through the woods of Camp Barrett. The camp is located on private, gated property and is set off a rural road, just minutes from Interstate 97.

Gambrills is home to the Equilibrium Horse Center. This 80-acre site houses a school dedicated to the art of classical riding, education and horsemanship. The center strives to fulfill every horse interest and offers riding lessons, a summer camp, an adult camp, horse or pony parties, a 4-H horse club, boarding, hunter shows, dressage shows, horse trials, and clinics. Additionally, the large indoor riding arena makes year-round riding possible.

Both Gambrills and Crownsville are served by the Anne Arundel School District, which is considered one of the finest districts in the area. Those seeking post-secondary education are also within proximity to a number of fine colleges and universities. Some of the most popular campuses include the University of Baltimore, the University of Maryland - Baltimore and the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis.
